Presence

The still reference within the human node

Definition. Presence is Source-stillness locally readable within the human node. It is the still reference that remains undistorted while thought, feeling, sensation, memory, identity and choice move around it.

Presence and the still axis

Presence and the still axis are not two separate entities. Presence is the experiential and devotional name; the still axis is the architectural description. “Axis” does not name a physical rod, channel or storage chamber. It describes the stable relationship held by stillness amid the movement of the embodied node.

What Presence contributes

Presence does not think, choose, judge, store memory or receive reports from Witness. Its contribution is more fundamental: it remains unchanged. Because it is not composed of fear, injury, preference or self-image, it offers the human a reference by which distortion can become visible.

The plumb-line distinction

A plumb line does not repair a wall. It simply remains true to the vertical, allowing the lean to be seen. In the Codex comparison, Presence is the plumb line; Witness sees the lean; memory carries its history; Oversoul Harmonic gives direction; the human chooses and acts; and Grace may assist where effort cannot restore proportion alone.
